Hello!!!!
The mission has been super great here in goodl old Santiago
Chile, and it just keeps getting better! I left La Blanca and my dear Hermana
Doxey to come to San Miguel! I am now with my new companion Hermana Miranda
from Idaho, and she is super duper sweet and cute! I am excited for this next
change! Our first day yesterday was awesome. I met my new best friend Fanor who
is a haitian who speaks English. He is SO funny I love him! A drunk guy comes
upin themiddle of a lesson and tells me i look like his daughter, talks to us
for a second then walks away, and Fanor just states what we all knew to betrue
that "He drinks a lot of alcohol". He came with us to a few lessons
and let´s just say all night i was laughing.
Miracles right before I left La Blanca...
Dante the town drunk that lives in a literal junkyard is
doing So well! We visited him last week where he was drunk and proceeded to
yell at us saying he can´t continue and that he just wants to leave this place
andkicked us out.... SO we went back the next day, and the guilt that he felt
totally overwhelemd him so he started taking these pills to help him control
his urge to drink and he has now been 6 days withouta drop of alcohol, he came
to church in clean clothes (miracle) and he cleaned up his junkyard. I am
really sad that I won´t be able to see himcontinue to progress, but I know he
will continue to change hislife..
Andrea has come to church twice now, and my last day in La
Blanca we visited her where she shared her testimony how she has felt a change
in her heart from reading and praying and going to church for obligation, to
now because SHE wants to.
We believe in change.We believe that people can truely and
completely change, and I am not saying that because of Dante and so many
others, but I too believe in change, and that belief has given me so much hope
that I too can and have changed! i love what I do and all that it has taught
me.
