BIENVENIDA HERMANA MEZA

Hello from the dope duo Hermana Bever y Hermana Meza!

We had changes on Saturday where my comp Hermana Ziegler left, and my new comp Hermana Meza arrived! She is from Peru and just finished her training which means I am greenie breaking for the third time... This week with her has been super awesome though! She is so sweet and so cute; literally the cutest little human I know. She is from Lima Peru which means I have a latina companion again to help me with my Spanish!

But this week was awesome because we were able to find a ton of new people to teach! One is Luis who lives in the same house as our friend Josnel and he came up and asked us for a Book of Mormon! Then later in the week we found 3 teenage girls Francisca, Connie, and Isabela who we had passed by 4 or 5 times with Hermana Ziegler but never found them! Now we have set appointments with them and they are so awesome. THEN we also found Jaime who has suffered from so many heart attacks that he can´t walk very well and has to talk slow, but he has such a strong testimony of the plan of salvation before we even introduced it to him!

Other than these awesome miracles we have been seeing, we have been able to do a lot of service projects that usually involve cleaning kitchens :)

The more time I serve as a missionary, the more I appreciate being a member of this church. I love it so much!!

August is Ending!

Hi!!

Again, not a whole lot to report, but this week is good! We are working a lot with Héctor who has been an investigator for a loooong time, but could never come to church or participate because he takes care of his mom. He has come to church twice with us!! so we are trying to help him be more active in the church before he gets  baptized, but he is so awesome and has such an awesome testimony. 

This week we also had our zone conference with the northern half of the mission which was so great as usual. That is where the picture of my comp and I was taken. 

Yesterday we had a fun service activity with Griselda the hoarder. We had our district leaders come out to  help us clear out a room full of wood and other junk including but not limited to, a mattress, exercise equipment, a high chair, and some scooters... We are helping her clean out her house little by little, but she is doing better! She is reading and came to church for the first time on Sunday!! She was falling asleep basically the whole time, but she came! And she said she really liked it too!! 

As far as Maggielynn and Rosa, we taught them on Sunday and finally realized it´s really hard for them to understand. We kept repeating "do you know what ____ means?" and they always said no hahahah Maggielynn then also told us she doesn´t want to get baptized until her husband comes here from Dominican Republic, but that will be in a long time so we are still working with her hahha

Honestly all in all, this week was a good week :) but i am really exciting for summer when I won´t have to feel like the members are shoving bread down my throat every night (with lots of love of course)

All we have to do is trying to be a little more Christ like every day; try to be better than the person you were yesterday :)

8-15-18 Rappers or Hoarders we´re all children of God

Hello!!!!!

This week was super fun for us! We had a talent show for a ward activity so we were able to participate in a few different ways actually :) We were background dancers for an Hermana impersonating a famous person, then we did a sketch with the elders in our ward and then we performed a rap that I wrote so we dressed up all "flighte" or "gangster" and it was fun :) One of our investigators Griselda was able to come, and it was so funny! She struggles with depression and never leaves the house, but in this activity she had her hands in the air the whole time and yelling and laughing; it was really really good for her.

This week we went to her house actually to do some service because she has a lot of clothes to donate.. little did we know she is a hoarder... She has a legit psychological problem where she collects clothes with the idea to donate, but never gets around to it. Sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night and goes a steals clothes from her neighbor that they have thrown away. It was actually really said when she told us about it, but we are teaching her, and I can already see the progress! She is changing and getting better and happier little by littler :) Miracles really do exist.

Another evidence of miracles is that I am not sick!! We were in the metro one day, and an adorable down syndrome girl was standing right behind my seat and looking at me, and i was talking to her when all of the sudden she sneezed... RIGHT in my face.. but other than a lot of sympathetic looks from chileans, nothing happened! I am healthy as a horse :)

3 Nephi 17:21

...and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them .

God knows us all individually by name. Never forget it.

7-18-18 PAOLA GOT BAPTIZED!!

Hi Fam!!!!!

This week was super awesome, and honestly i don´t know how i can explain it´s awesomeness in words because they won´t do it justice buuuuut the best part was saturday when Paola got baptized! She was super nervous and really cold, but she did it! And it has been soooooo amazing to she her progress and the changes she has been in her life for the better since i met her. 

In other big news I got changes!! Leaving brisas after 4 and a half months was sad, but I am excited about this next change! I am now in the northern part of the mission in a zone called San Miguel with my new companion Hermana Ziegler. She has 4 months in the mission so I now have to be the Spanish helper and not helpee and she is from Sweden/Alabama. I have only had one day in the sector so i don´t have many details to give, but it will be a lot of fun. 

My spiritual thought this week comes from my comp who said yesterday "Hey i like your voice; it´s not very high, and you don´t try to hit the right notes all the time." Soo moral of the story is "sing the song of redeeming love" even if you don´t have a nice voice. It is nice to someone :)

8-8-18 OVER THE HILL

HELLO ALL!!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates the past couple weeks! I don´t have a good excuse, but here I am now!

For all who are wondering, yes I have heard about my sister´s engagement and I am beyond excited for her and Benjamin!

Since you last heard from me, I have changed companions and sectors! I am in my new sector called Departamental which is in one of the northern parts of our little mission. I am with my companion Hermana Ziegler who was born in Sweden but moved to the states when she was 11.. to Alabama. She just barely finished her training so I am greenie breaking her; I am her dad!

We are having a whole lot of fun here in our cute little sector and there are tons of people. We are teaching a peruvian family who are so awesome. There is the grandma, the parents, and 4 kids and all of them come to church every Sunday! They are super humble and super excited to learn. Right now we are trying to help the dad Jorge find work and help Jorge and his girlfriend Anais get their papers. 

We also are teaching two Haitians, Rosa and Maggielynn who are awesome. They come to church and participate in everything! We have done Family Home Evenings with them and they are going to sing in the ward talent show this Saturday! 

But ya we have so many awesome people here! I wish you could all know them. Other than that, the only updates that I have are that I am happy and healthy and loving life here in Chile.
